Piano Private Lessons
One-on-One Instruction
This is for anyone any age (including adults) but preferably 6 and up. They can be younger but we highly recommend enrolling them in the group colour programs prior to the age of 7. The colour programs are recommended as they are more “fun” learning rather than sitting at piano for half an hour straight, but those only start in September (and those are for beginners). If they have already had lessons, they probably need to start here. They cannot go into group after private unless they took lessons for a very short time, otherwise it will be repetitious for them.
Private lessons can be for someone who has already had lessons prior to now, as well as beginners.
-
Half hour lessons once per week (same time each week)
-
One on one with teacher
-
10 month program (Sept to June) 39 lessons in total with two weeks off at Christmas and one week at spring break. HOWEVER, private lessons can be started any time throughout the year if there are available spots.
-
You must have a piano at home to practice on but there is NO need to bring it each week. You need a piano to practice on because they need to practice a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. The more a student practices, the faster they improve. We do NOT recommend purchasing a “keyboard”, but to buy a digital piano or acoustic piano because a keyboard is NOT 88 notes and NOT touch sensitive. A keyboard will only last them for a short period of time. Piano playing is not just learning notes, but learning to play loud and soft as the music dictates.

You can find out PRICES by calling Carillon Music Academy at 604-591-1161. There is a TUITION for the 10 months. You pay a fee when you enroll and then the rest is broken down into 10 EQUAL payments no matter how many lessons you have per month. You will get 39 lessons over the whole year if you start the beginning of September. However, Private lessons can start at anytime throughout the year, so you will be PRORATED depending on when you start.
-
Books are charged as they are given (or a couple of weeks after) when the book control form goes through front desk. Price depends on what books they receive.
