Claudia's students have done well in festivals and exams for years. She is an experienced teacher taking casual and serious students. Those who are interested in popular guitar styles, classical guitar, ukulele, basic musicianship, or music theory can inquire about availability. Claudia teaches all levels of guitar - from those with no prior training, to advanced level players. With the belief that learning guitar can be fun and rewarding, her students learn at their own pace with an individual weekly assignment.

 

Claudia Chalk took music education and training, with an emphasis on guitar, in the United States and British Columbia. As a musician her career has included many performance opportunities, the publication of two books pertinent to musical topics, and years of dedication to teaching the art of the guitar.

 

Claudia is actively involved in taking part in the city's cultural scene, taking time to listen to and appreciate the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver Opera. She also enjoys other more instrument specific groups such as The Vancouver Guitar Society, and guitar websites such as "this is classical guitar", run by Vancouver Island’s Brandon Werner.
